Szymaszek, Joseph G. TROY Joseph G. Szymaszek, 60 of 4th Avenue, entered into eternal life Monday, September 27, 2021, at his residence. A native of Cohoes, Joe was the son of the late Joseph and Michalina Dzioban Szymaszek. He was educated at St. Michael's School and Cohoes and Shaker High Schools. Joe was employed as a handyman throughout the area and loved working with his hands. He was a true "Jack-of-all-Trades" who could fix anything. He especially enjoyed his time in Florida where he would work on boats and where he had hoped one day to retire. He will be best remembered for his outgoing and friendly personality which earned him a wide circle of friends. He is survived by his sister Susan Boni (Tom Smero) of Latham; by his uncle, John Szymaszek (Karen) as well as many cousins and friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. in the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 105 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes. Relatives and friends may visit with his family from 3:30-5:30 p.m. prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, P.O. Box 11039, Lewiston, ME, 04243.
