Joseph Turley Obituary

ALBANY Joseph J. Turley, 88, died Friday, February 21, 2003 at Eden Park Nursing Home. Born in Morristown, N.J., Mr. Turley lived in Mendham, N.J. until 1933. He then moved to NYC from 1933 to 1940 and finally made Albany his home in May of 1940. He was a graduate of St. Elizabeth's Parochial and Bernards High School in Bernardsville, N.J. He worked in Wall Street for four years, at the NYS Department of Finance for five years, Schaffer Stores as manager of Empire Liquor for six years and worked for Service Liquor Distributors as a salesman for 31 years, retiring February 1, 1982. He was a communicant of Holy Cross Church and a was member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians Division #5. Beloved husband of Jane Daly Turley; father of Joseph M. Turley and his wife Elena, John F. Turley and his wife Donna, Michael J. Turley and his wife Patricia and James E. Turley and his wife Dawn, all of Albany. Mr. Turley is also survived by ten wonderful grandchildren, Michele, Joseph, Kimberly, Kelly, Kristina, Michael, David, Patricia, James and Christopher; and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral from the Magin & Keegan Funeral Home, 891 Madison Ave., Tuesday morning at 9:30 and Holy Cross Church at 10 o'clock. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment Calvary Cemetery. If desired, contributions in Mr. Turley's memory may be made to Holy Cross School, 10 Rosemont St., Albany, NY 12203.

Iam a friend of Mr. Turleys grandson Jimmy, I got to know Mr. Turley when Jimmy lived at his house and i was very sad to hear the news of his passing !
