Josina Berrington Obituary
DELMAR - Josina René Berrington (Jo), 84, died Sunday, December 31, 2023 at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center. Born October 24, 1939, the daughter of the late Francis J. and Eleanor T. (Hosey) Maguire; and sister to Robert Maguire Sr. and the late Kathy Maguire of Albany.
Josina attended Vincentian Institute and graduated from Saint Joseph Academy, Albany. She had a career in the medical field as a transcriptionist. Worked at St Peters Hospital, Our Lady Of Mercy and retired from Community Care Physicians, in Delmar. Josina was proud of her Irish heritage. She dedicated many years to Cyprus Shrine in Glenmont, as a member of the Lady's Auxiliary.
She was the devoted wife of 38 years to the late Floyd Joseph Berrington; beloved mother to Rebecca (Adam) Edwards of Altamont, Robert (Ann) Berrington of Ballston Lake. Cherished Nana Jo of Thomas (Sarah) Berrington, Olivia Berrington and Daniella Bertrand. She also survived by her nieces Tammy (Chuck) Cassaro, and Christine Tanner; great-nephews and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her sister-in-law, June (Benjamin) Coughlin; and nephew, Robert Maguire Jr.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Josina's Funeral Service at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave. Delmar on Wednesday January 3 at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery, Delmar.
Those who wish may send memorial Contributions to Shriners Hospitals for Children 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, Fla. 33607.

To the Berrington & Maguire Families:
My sincere sympathy to you on your loss. Josina & I were classmates & friends many years ago at St. Patrick's Institute on Central Ave. in Albany. I lived nearby on West Street. Over the years I thought of her many times since we shared the same last name and were both proud of being Irish. Again, my sympathy to all of you.
