Time is fleeting, but memories last a lifetime for those who have touched many lives. Whenever I hear her name and reflect back to my time at the Board, I remember Kathy and all she was to so many. Remembering Kathy in my prayers today.

To Kathy's Family and Friends,

Kathy was a sweet, kind-hearted woman. We will miss our "driveway talks" with her. May you find comfort knowing she is in our Lord's loving arms.

I wish to send my deepest sympathies to Kathy's family, friends and co-workers. I worked at the WCB in NYC for 18 years (left in 1995). I knew and worked with Kathy for most of that time. She was a highly dedicated person and very intense about her work. Over the years we also became personal friends and spent some time together in NYC and at the Jersey Shore. I have some very good memories. It's a terrible loss.

To Kathy's Family and Devoted Friends,

I wish to extend my deepest sorrow to all those who loved Kathy. Kathy was a gentle woman whom I worked very closely with for ten years at the Workers' Compensation Board. I have been retired for nearly two years and just learned of her passing, as I am currently living in South Carolina.

I wish that I could have been in Albany these last two years so that I could in some small way make Kathy's journey to everlasting life with our Lord easier.

Kathy always listened patiently to anyone's issues and concerns, their needs for assistance and general frustrations that come with the difficult job of managing budgets and people.

Kathy was honest, persistent and hard working. She often worked ten or twelve hour days in order to complete a task or project promised to others. Kathy had a steady hand and a quiet auora of confidence. She was a humble, honorable and private person.

I will miss the twinkle in Kathy's eye and the knowing nod. Kathy was a dedicated and loyal professional and public servant. I, like many, will miss her.

With Deepest Sympathy,

Marsha Orndorff
Former Deputy Executive Director
NYS Workers' Compensation Board

Peggy, Jerry,Maureen,Jim, Mike, and family,

Please accept my sincere sympathy on your loss. It is so sad to loose a sibling or friend at such a young age. We must remember the good times and vacations at Brant Lake. I have fond memories of Kathy with us in Auburn when she started her first New York State job in Geneva.

Even though expected in the near future, it was still shocking and terribly upsetting to hear about Kathy's death.
As I sit at the computer, trying to think of something comforting to say,I wonder who spilled something all over the keyboard. I realize (since I am the only one home and can't blame anyone but
myself) that it is my tears. Ok, so I dried off the keyboard, now I am still trying to find something comforting to say...... Kathy is one of those people that get a pass directly to heaven, do not pass go, don't collect $100.00 dollars, just open the gates. She was good even as a kid!
Even though we don't see each other as often as we would like, the feeling of deep friendship and love remains in all of our hearts. We will miss Kathy!
Love and Laughter, Anne

Peg and Gerry,
While it has been many years since I have seen you or Kathy I was saddened when I read of her passing this morning. Many memories of good times came to mind.
I know what it is like to lose a loved one long before their time. You and your family will be in my prayers.

Dear Peg, Mo, Jerry, Jim, Mike, sisters and brother-in-law, nieces and nephews,

Kathy (aka Griff-to distinguish between her and Kathy Pierone, another roommate), will remain a treasured friend always--way beyond the 37 years we've already shared. Mike, I only told you some of the special memories we have of her, Vicki Shellhammer (nee Fay) and I shared even more last night. I loved to make Kathy laugh, or sharpen her wit and tongue sharing a couple of beers. My only regret is that she didn't clue us in on what she was going through, but that was par for Kathy's course, I guess. I send sympathy to all of you, her loving family, and wish I could be there to see how all the nieces and nephews grew up. Bless Kathy's memory, and thank you all for sharing her with us. I will think of her in Heaven with your parents, whenever my daughter and I have a sub sandwich (your parents used to send them to us in the dorm freshman year when we were studying). I will honor her memory every time I look at her picture, or the photos she took on trips with me, and I will raise my glass (of beer) to her and say, "To Life!"
