Kenneth Carbone Obituary

Carbone, Kenneth J. Sr. MECHANICVILLE Kenneth J. Carbone Sr., 89, of South Main Street, died after a brief illness on Sunday, February 5, 2017, at Albany Medical Center, with his loving family by his side. Born in Mechanicville, on March 30, 1927, he was the son of the late Biagio and Marie Vannucci Carbone. Ken served honorably in the U.S. Navy during World War II until being honorably discharged shortly after the wars end. He began his working days at the B&M Railroad and then at the WESVACO Paper Company before settling into his long term career at the Ford Motor Company's Tractor Division in Latham, until retiring in the early 90's. Ken enjoyed playing bocce with family and friends at the Italian Fraternal, darts at the Commercial and bowling in various local leagues. In his spare time, he could be found puttering around the house, inside and out, and was always willing to help others when they were in need. He was the rock in his family, his children's hero, and will be missed dearly by them as well as by his loving companion and best friend, his dog, Rudy. Ken was predeceased by his wife, Eleanor M. Carbone in February, 1997. Survivors include his son, Keith (Tamara) Carbone of Mechanicville; son Kenneth Jr. (Joanne) Carbone of Rochester; daughter Tami (Tom) Moldenhouer of Stillwater; grandchildren, Tara (Matthew) Ciullo, Brittany and Kyle (Diana) Carbone, James (Eric Rosenfield), Paul (Alyssa), Luke (Kassandra) and Kaelynn (Greg Brown) LaVigne, Jenesa (Pasty) Mpiga-Tsiba; several great- grandchildren; sisters Mary Lavazzo of Mechanicville, and Anna "Pat" (Matt) Tomaro of Cohoes; brothers Joseph Carbone of Mechanicville, and William (Eleanor) Carbone of Massachusetts, along with several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his siblings, Rose Clements, Dolores and Carl Carbone. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 12 p.m. at All Saints on the Hudson, 121 North Main St., Mechanicville, with burial and military honors to follow at Hudson View Cemetery. Calling hours at the DeVito- Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 South Main St., Mechanicville on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the American Lung Association, 1200 Hosford St., Suite 101, Hudson, WI 54016-9316, in memory of Kenneth J.
