Kenneth Ray Obituary

TROY Kenneth M. Ray, 55, of Eleventh Street, died suddenly on Tuesday, June 15, 2004 at Samaritan Hospital after a brief illness. Born June 23, 1948 in Kingston to Charles Ray Sr. of Memphis, Tenn. and the late Geraldine Ray. A Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War, Kenneth was an avid gardener and dedicated worker at the Troy Community Gardens. He received his education in the Albany area and was a graduate of Albany High School, Class of 1965. He was a member of the Corporal William A. Dickerson VFW Post #8758 of Troy. In addition to his father, he is survived by two sons, Kenneth Jr. and Anthony; and a daughter, Charlene of Schenectady; four grandchildren also survive. His memory will also be cherished by an aunt, Edith Marble of Albany; two brothers; an uncle; and special friend and companion, Barbara Pettiway of Troy. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 21, from the Oak Grove Baptist Church, 514 7th Ave., North Troy, N.Y., Rev. Jackie Robinson, Sr., Pastor, officiating. Family and friends are invited. Viewing 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Interment, Gerald B.H. Solomon National Cemetery, Schuylerville, N.Y. Arrangements by Garland Bros. Funeral Home, 75 Clinton Avenue, Albany, N.Y.
