ALBANY - Kenneth James Walker, 77, of Rutland, Mass., and formerly of Albany, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2023, in Worcester, Mass.
Born in Albany on September 8, 1946, he was the son of the late Vernon and Marguerite (Richards) Walker. He is survived by his four children, Sandra (Walker) and David Innamorati, David and Neringa (Nemak) Walker, Karen Walker, and Michael and Kristi (Favaloro) Walker; his grandchildren, Daniel, Alissa, Seth, Grace, Leah, Victoria, Matthew and Elizabeth; his one great-granddaughter, Azade; his six siblings, Geraldine and Gary Holman, Eugene Walker, Nathan and Mona (Sakilan) Walker, Barbara and Bob Tatarchuk, Jeanette Walker and Paul Barbegallo, Norma Walker and Rocky Petrocelli; and nieces and nephews and their families, whom he loved and was proud of.
Ken graduated from Albany High School in 1966, then proudly served in the U.S. Air Force, serving at Goose Air Base in Labrador, Canada. He was married in Albany in 1973 to Phyllis Orsburn and raised his family there.
A life-long member of the Albany Seventh-day Adventist Church, he served as a deacon and colporteur, and worked for the Christian Record Braille Foundation. He was a skilled carpenter, trained by his uncle, George Hamman. He took electrical classes at Hudson Valley Comm. College and spent the rest of his career as an alarm systems expert for JMS Alarms in Rensselaer. He was devoted to his church and shared his faith with as many people as possible. He willingly gave of himself, his time, and his knowledge to anyone who needed assistance, only allowing himself to rest on the Sabbath, which he dedicated to church and family.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 4 until 5 p.m. at the Tebbutt Funeral Home, 633 Central Ave., Albany followed by a memorial service at 5 p.m. in the funeral home.
