Leander J. Lesser

Leander J. Lesser, 89, of Sauk Centre, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, Jan. 12, 2025, at Cura of Sauk Centre care center in Sauk Centre.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20, at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. A private inurnment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Sauk Centre at a later date. Visitation will be 9:30-10:45 a.m. Jan. 20 at the church.
Leander James Lesser was born July 10, 1935, in Belgrade, to Anthony and Antoinette (Hilger) Lesser. He was united in marriage to Eunice Meyer June 27, 1959, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Meire Grove. The couple lived in Brooklyn Center for 36 years while Leander worked at Jesco Inc. for 34 years. Upon retirement, the couple moved to Sauk Centre in 2003.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre, former member of St. Frances de Sales Catholic Church in Belgrade, St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Plymouth and St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Brooklyn Center. Leander enjoyed going to the lake with family for vacation, bowling, golfing, gardening, playing cards and fishing.
Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Eunice Lesser, of Sauk Centre; children Cheryl (Bill) Fuhrman of Becker and Dale (Denise) Lesser of Champlin; grandchildren William (Brittany) Fuhrman III, Cory (Alyssa) Fuhrman, Brock Lesser and Dalton Lesser; great-grandchildren Justine Fuhrman, William Fuhrman IV, Leander Fuhrman and Colton Fuhrman; sister Marion Roeder of Coon Rapids; and brother Eugene Lesser of Plymouth.
Leander was preceded in death by his parents; father- and mother-in-law Henry and Alma Meyer; sisters-in-law Doris (Dean) Braun and Leora Lesser; and brother-in-law Phil Roeder.
Arrangements were made with Patton-Schad Funeral & Cremation Services of Sauk Centre.
