Lei Zhu Obituary
GLENMONT - Dr. Lei Zhu PhD., 60, passed away at her Glenmont home on May 14, 2024.
Lei graduated from Columbia University with a PhD. in Physical Chemistry. She was a Professor in Dept. of Environmental Health Sciences at SUNY Albany.
Lei is survived by son Anthony, mother Yuzhu, brothers Yong and Ben, and sister Wen.
Family and friends are invited to visit with Lei's family and celebrate Lei's life on Thursday, May 23, 4-6:45 p.m. in the Konicek & Collett Funeral Home LLC, 1855 12th Avenue, Watervliet. A brief prayer service will be held at 5:45 p.m. in the funeral home, visitation will continue following the prayer service.

This is so heartbreaking, Dr.Lei Zhu, was a good teacher and mentor, although it´s been 20 years, I still have found memories of her , I remember her baby shower.

I have known Lei since she started her work at Wadsworth. I have rarely seen a person more dedicated to work and duty. I have talked with Lei many times and will miss these conversations. I have served on some committees which she chaired. She was pleasant and avoided confrontations. In the last several months, I have noticed that she did not look as healthy as usual.

Lei is going to really be missed. My Hallway will not be the same without her. Every time I walk by her room she is working hard. Lei was a very nice lady to talk to. God Bless Anthony. You will all be in my thoughts and prayers.
