Lisa Gendron Obituary

Gendron, Lisa M. EAGLE MILLS Lisa M. (D'Angelo) Gendron, 49, a lifelong resident of Pittstown and Brunswick, died peacefully at her home with her family by her side, Friday, February 19, 2021, as the snow softly fell outside her window, after a short illness. Born in Troy, Lisa was the daughter of the late Chris D'Angelo and Margaret "Peggy" (Piskutz) and David Moquin of Pittstown and, for over 21 years, the beautiful wife of David A. Gendron and wonderful mother of Michael D. Gendron, both of Eagle Mills. Lisa was a graduate of Tamarac High School and SUNY-Albany and earned a master's degree in early childhood education from The College of Saint Rose in Albany. She married the love of her life, David, in a wedding ceremony held at the former Woodside Presbyterian Church in Troy. Lisa spent over 20 years teaching at Cohoes Middle School. She spent most of her career teaching sixth grade, which she loved. There she acquired many friends who became a second family to her. Her students in Cohoes will always remember her for her love of reading, her kindness, and the dedication that she showed to them. She enjoyed caring for her home and delighted in tackling any repair or design project that came her way. She loved to read and travel, especially to the coast of Maine, which would always include a visit to Nubble Lighthouse. However, her most favorite pastime was the "Annual Ladies Shopping Trip," where she spent time with her mother and aunts. In addition to her husband, mother, and son, Lisa is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Christian and Crystal D'Angelo of Eagle Mills and Jason and Carrie D'Angelo of Schuylerville; a niece, Grace D'Angelo of Eagle Mills; and two nephews, Jase D'Angelo and Hudson D'Angelo of Schuylerville; her husband's parents, Linda and Paul Gendron; two brothers and four sisters and their spouses, several aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Lisa's family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at both NYOH and Community Hospice for their love and support of Lisa and her family while she was under their care. Out of an abundance of care and concern for family and friends, no services will be held at this time due to the current N.Y.S. COVID-19 guidelines. A time of visitation followed by a memorial service for Lisa will be held at a date and time to be announced later this spring. Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave., Menands, NY, 12204, in memory of Lisa M. Gendron.

David,
Our most sincere condolences to you and your son from all of us at the office. By reading her obituary and knowing her for the short time that I knew her, I could tell that she was a special person, wife and mother. Even though her time with you was shortened, you have to always think that you are better off to have had her in your life for a short period of time than to have never had her at all.

I was so heartbroken to hear about Lisa. She was a beautiful person inside and out. And that infectious smile of hers. We had great times in high school and college (my college buddy) She will be missed dearly. My heart goes out to the family.
