NISKAYUNA - Lois Helen Bobeck (nee Lamoureux), 97, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2025, at the home of her son, John, where she had been residing for the past four years.
Born on August 11, 1928, in Albany, N.Y., Lois was the daughter of the late Helen Williams (nee Kelly) and Gregory Lamoureux. She graduated from Rensselaer High School and spent much of her early life in the Albany area.
Lois married Daniel J. Bobeck on October 25, 1947, and together they built a life that led them to live in various locations due to Daniel's work. Their journey started in Latham, N.Y., then on to HydePark, N.Y. In 1960, Lois made her first long distance move with her growing family on a journey that took them to Kansas City, Kan.; Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Boardman, Ohio; Danbury, Conn.; Murray Hills, N.J.; and finally, in 1976, she made her way back to the Albany area settling in Delmar, N.Y.
Throughout this time, Lois and Daniel raised five children, Gregory J. Bobeck (Geralyn), Sandra Silvers-DeAngelo (Mark), Christine McGrath (Timothy), Daniel M. Bobeck and John Bobeck (Keith).
Lois was also a proud grandmother of 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She is survived by grandchildren, Jason Bobeck, Timothy Bobeck, Genevieve Bobeck, Nicolai Bobeck, Alysia Silvers, Andre Silvers Jr., Aaron Silvers, Chad DeAngelo, Chelsea DeAngelo, Darcy Pethrick, Kelly McGrath, Patrick McGrath, Kylie Bobeck, Cameron Bobeck, Nathan Bobeck.
She is survived by great-grandchildren, Lola Bobeck, Killian Phillips, Zoe Galan, Nicolai Bobeck Jr., Maximus Medrano, Aliyah Silvers, Andre Silvers III, Dominic DeAngelo, Delaney DeAngelo, Ramona Petherick, Finn Sweeney, Miles Sweeney, Saydee Hoke, Gianna Bobeck.
Lois loved playing tennis and spending time by the water, enjoying summers at her condo in Lake George and winters in Siesta Key, Fla. She was an active member of church choirs throughout her life, lending her beautiful voice to parishes wherever she lived.
While raising her children was always her top priority, Lois also worked in retail and later earned her real estate license, working part-time in that field as well.
Lois led a full and meaningful life, filled with love for her family, a passion for travel, and a quirky zest for life that will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Calling hours will be held on September 22, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., at Applebee Funeral Home, 408 Kenwood Ave., in Delmar. A Funeral Mass will follow at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Place, in Delmar, at 11:00 a.m., with a Rite of Committal to follow at St. Agnes Cemetery, 48 Cemetery Ave., in Menands.
