Loretta Rivera Obituary
COEYMANS - It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Loretta M. Rivera, 73, of Coeymans, on January 8, 2025. Loretta was born in Peasleeville, N.Y., on September 24, 1951, to the late Clifford J. and Evelyn LaPlante.
Loretta lived in the Ravena, Coeymans, Selkirk area for more than 50 years. She was a C.N.A. and worked as a private duty nurse for several years, before working and retired from Oakbrook Manor as a cleaner.
Loretta is survived by her four children, Clifford J. Hart (Nicole), Tina Rivera, Rose Rivera and Amber Rivera; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, three siblings, Rita Nolan, Michael LaPlante (Darlene) and Rose Gladney (Jerome); several nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raphael Rivera; three siblings, James LaPlante, Patricia Furnia, John LaPlante; her beautiful granddaughter, Emily Hart; and brother-in-law, James Nolan.
Loretta was known to love her word searches, playing Yahtzee, scratch off tickets, and shopping.
Loretta was well loved in the community and will be truly missed.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at the Riverview Missionary Baptist Church, Coeymans, N.Y., under the direction of the Babcock Funeral Home.

My heart is heavy as I write this. I always thought I´d be gone before Loretta! She was always spunky and knew what she wanted. If it wasn´t for Loretta many women in Coeymans wouldn´t have had group meetings in her home to learn about better nutrition for their families or stretching their food dollars. She was full of good ideas and always willing to help where help was needed. Her open door and friendly face made life for many much better. My heart holds her close forever!
