Marcos E. Ruiz

Ruiz, Marcos E. GLENMONT Marcos E. Ruiz, 87, formerly of South Lane, Ravena, passed away Monday, February 16, 2015, at his home in the Van Allen Senior Apartments. He was born in Santa Barbara, Calif., son of the late Jose G. Ruiz and Dolores Amezquinta. Marcos was the beloved husband to the late Judith H. (Harlfinger) Ruiz for over 39 years. Marcos graduated from Santa Barbara High School in 1945 and immediately enlisted into active duty in the U.S. Navy to serve in World War II. He was later drafted into the Korean War. Marcos earned a B.A. from the University of California-Santa Barbara and from the American Institute for Foreign Trade. He was employed by RCA at the Air Force Missile Test Center, Cape Canaveral, Fla.; Torrington Construction in Lake George, and Callanan Industries of South Bethlehem, from where he retired in 1995. Survivors include his two sons, M. Andrew Ruiz (Beth Miller Ruiz) of Delmar and James H. Ruiz (Kimberly Boring Ruiz) of Chesterfield, Va.; two granddaughters, Lindsay Ruiz of Albany and Amy Ruiz of Chesterfield; sister, Marie Estele Mackey of Santa Barbara, and several nieces and nephews. Private services will be held at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, South Bethlehem.
