Margaret Boyko Obituary
MELROSE - Margaret Boyko, 94, of Northline Dr., passed away peacefully in her home, on August 28, 2025, after an extended illness. Born and raised in Mechanicville on August 25, 1931, daughter of the late Robert Newell and Laura Newell Hummer, she was a graduate of Mechanicville High School.
Margaret worked for the Behr-Manning Corporation and Watervliet Arsenal, both of Watervliet, N.Y.
She was a longtime member of the Mechanicville Senior Center, where she loved going on gambling trips, and playing bocce ball.
She was predeceased by her husband, Michael Boyko; and her siblings, Rita Borden, Ruth DeLosSantos, Robert Newell, and Eunabelle Kelly.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Cheryl Boyko of Melrose; and several nieces and nephews.
Margaret's family wishes to extend a special thank you to Madree Lucarelli, Vivian Kelly, and Paul and Judi Kozlowski, for all their support during the past few months.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, September 6, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 South Main St., Mechanicville. A Funeral Home service will begin at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice Foundation, 310 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, N.Y. 12208, or Hudson Mohawk Humane Society, 4 Oakland Ave., Menands, N.Y. 12204.
