Margaret Hinkell

Hinkell, Margaret COLONIE Margaret "Peggy" Hinkell, 75, of Colonie (formerly of Averill Park), died Wednesday, August 17, 2011 following a lengthy illness. Peggy was born, raised and educated in Nanticoke, Pa., and also attended school in Brooklyn, N.Y. She was the daughter of the late Bennett and Dorothy James Ruddick. She was a professional secretary, having worked for several governmental committees and commissions, and eventually retired in 1990 from Environmental Facilities Corp. in Colonie. She was a member of the Lake Avenue Community Church in Averill Park, where she had served as the church secretary and treasurer, and had most recently worshipped at Grace Fellowship in Latham. She is survived by three children, Thomas Wilson and his wife Kim of Slingerlands, Lori Milcarek and her husband Thomas of Franklinville, N.J., and Steven Hinkell and his wife Jen of Cohoes; and eight grandchildren, Benjamin, Luke and Shannon Wilson, Andrew and Abigail Milcarek, and Nicholas, Emily and Leah Hinkell. A memorial service for Peggy will be held at Grace Fellowship, 20 Delatour Road, Watervliet, NY 12110, on Friday evening, August 19, 2011 at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Peggy may be made to St. Peter's Community Hospice, 315 South Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208.
