Marie La Regina

La Regina, Marie T. LATHAM Marie Theresa Friedhoff La Regina, 93, of Latham, entered into eternal life on Friday, August 12, 2011 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, N.Y. with her loving family at her side. Born in the Borough of Totowa, N.J. on August 4, 1918, Marie was the youngest, and the last surviving, of nine children born to the late Frank and Bertha Adler Friedhoff. She was raised and educated in Totowa and resided there until 1996 when she relocated to Latham. Marie was the much loved wife of the late Victor G. La Regina Sr. and shared over 50 years of marriage with him at the time of his passing on September 7, 1999. Marie was always family focused and enjoyed her role as a housewife and mother. She loved to spend time in her garden where she grew vegetables, flowers and berries to share with her family and friends. In her earlier years she was a wonderful seamstress and enjoyed square dancing, ballroom dancing and polkas. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Latham. Marie is survived by her loving children, Marie C. La Regina (Vogler) of Wildwood, Mo., Bernadette Pruiksma of Cold Spring, Ky., Victor La Regina, Jr. of Latham. N.Y., Janet La Regina Martin of Carleton, Mich. and Carol Callis of Pittsboro, Ind.; 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive her. A Funeral Mass for Marie will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Latham and a private interment will take place in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa, N.J. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass and may also call at the Bowen & Parker Bros.
