Marjorie Carpinello Obituary

Carpinello, Marjorie R.
EAST SCHODACK - Marjorie R. Carpinello, 86, of East Schodack, was peacefully reunited with the love of her life, from the comfort of her home, on Thursday, June 26, 2025.
Born November 28, 1938, and raised in Rensselaer, N.Y. by her parents, Tracy and Lillian Brown, Marge graduated from Van Rensselaer High School and married the love of her life, Daniel Carpinello, in 1956.
After raising four children, Marjorie attended HVCC at the age of 41, and earned an associates degree in Mortuary Science. She started her path by managing Chicorelli Funeral Home, and then worked as a self-employed funeral director for an astonishing career that lasted 40 years. Marge was proud to be able to help countless individuals and families, day or night, in their greatest times of need.
With an insatiable thirst for travel, Marge and Dan spent their 69 years of marriage exploring this country in their motorhome, as well as traveling abroad. Marge certainly had a way with words and a knack for keeping you on your toes, never knowing what would come next. With an open door and open arms, Marge and Dan welcomed anyone into their home, whether you needed a cup of coffee, a good story about the old days, or a place to rest your head.
Their story was truly one full of learning, adventure, and love which can be admired by anyone who was lucky enough to have met them. She lived for her kids, grandchildren, and family, which will never be forgotten. The love that they created and shared will last long beyond her final breath.
Marge was predeceased by her brother, Donald; as well as her grandson, Jasen Shults. She is survived by her four daughters, Joyce Carpinello, Michele (Peter) Hibbs, Tracey (Gary d.2002) Schmidbauer, Toni (Bret) McIntyre; grandchildren, Danielle (Omar), Joshua (Elizabeth), Devin, Alexander; six great-grandchildren; close friends, Albert and Francis Cole, Gary and Linda Berner, Herm and Joanne Lawrence; as well as many loving and helpful nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Marge will be held at 9:00 a.m., on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at the W.J. Lyons, Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Ave., Rensselaer, N.Y. 12144. Interment will immediately follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 3rd Ave. Ext., Rensselaer, N.Y. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Marge's family from 4:00-7:00 p.m., on Monday, June 30, 2025, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Marge's memory to the Bernard & Millie Duker Children's Hospital at Albany Medical Center, 43 New Scotland Ave., Albany, N.Y. 12208, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105.

Always a class act. Always loved Marge and Dan. I learned so much from her over the years. From the days of Chicarelli Funeral Home to now, Marge has always been a pioneer in the funeral industry. We will miss you for sure!
