Marjorie Zak Obituary

Zak, Marjorie
NISKAYUNA - Marjorie (Mancini) Zak, 82, died peacefully, on Saturday, June 7, 2025. Marge was born in Paterson, N.J., to the late Ernest and Margaret (Roedel) Mancini. She grew up in Fair Lawn, N.J., and married Richard Zak in 1963. Marge and Rich raised a family of three children in Kinnelon, N.J. During that time, she also worked as a purchasing agent for Arrow Group Industries in Wayne, N.J. Rich and Marge took many vacations together when Rich was working. After retirement Marge and Richard moved to Saratoga Springs, N.Y., to be closer to their nine grandchildren.
Marge was an excellent cook and baker, skills that she inherited from her father. Special meals and desserts were always the highlight of holidays and birthdays. Cooking skills, holiday traditions and recipes were all lovingly handed down to her children. Marge was a sanctioned bridge player, an avid reader and enjoyed doing needle point. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two siblings, Ernest Mancini and Linda Tymon. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Richard Zak; son Michael (Sue) Zak of Canandaigua, son Richard (Ann) Zak of Albany; and daughter Karen (Rick) Wilson of Norwich, Vt., nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, 1803 Union St., Niskayuna, N.Y. Interment services will be private.
