Marjory M. Laymond

Laymond, Marjory M. SCHODACK Marjory M. Laymond, 85, died September 17, 2018, at her home surrounded by her family. Born in Colonie, she was the daughter of the late Charles Sterling and Marion Brind Sterling. Marjory lived in the East Greenbush, Schodack area for most of her life. Marjory was an avid gardener and enjoyed photographing all the wildlife that frequented her feeders. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who loved and supported her children and granddaughters and always welcomed a houseful of their friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 45 years, Robert F. Laymond, who was her childhood sweetheart; and her brothers and sister, Charles, Robert and Coralie Sterling. She is survived by her son, Randy Laymond, who served for many years as her caretaker; her daughter, Dawn Laymond Kolakoski and her husband, Charles Raderstorf; and her two granddaughters, Kathryn McBain (Jaime) and Rebecca Kolakoski. She leaves behind 10 nieces and nephews, whom she adored. Relatives and friends are invited to her calling hours 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Rockefeller Funeral Home 165 Columbia Tpk Rensselaer. Funeral services will be Thursday morning at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with burial following at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Guilderland.
