Mary Hart Obituary
MELROSE - Mary "Sue" Hart, 74 of Melrose, was called to heaven in the evening of Friday, December 16, 2022, at her home.
Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late William and Rosemary Poliquin Shepard and the beloved wife of 54 years to Lawrence Hart.
Sue returned to school to continue her education and completed her degree in nursing. She was awarded the Johanna Carpenter Memorial Award for Compassionate Nursing. Sue was a registered nurse with Samaritan Hospital for over 25 years and was also employed with the Capital District Surgical Associates, later completing her career in private home care.
Sue loved warm weather and enjoyed going to the beach. She loved to craft and enjoyed spending time laughing with her family and friends.
Survivors, in addition to her husband Larry, include her children, Scott and Donna Hart, Jason Hart and Keith Hart; her grandchildren, Corey (Brandy) Hart, Sarah (Stephen) Rodd, Nicole and Dylan Hart; her siblings, William (Eileen) Shepard, and Jude (Laureen) Shepard; and her sister-in-law, Carol Shepard. She was predeceased by her brother, James Shepard. Sue is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. at the Wm. Leahy Funeral Home, 336 3rd St., Troy. Funeral services will follow in St. Joseph's Church, Troy, where at 10 a.m. a funeral Mass will be celebrated with Father Joseph Ngo officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Sue was, Keith´s mom to me. She took great care of her children home, family and friends. I remember her kindness, warmth and motherly way. I used to do sleepovers there and Keiths mom was great. She knew how to laugh and Keith was always making her giggle. I´m very sorry to hear about her passing. My condolences to the family. I´m terribly sorry to hear she passed. Sue was the glue that held together the Harts. I can only imagine how hard it is on the family. I´m sending my love and strength to the family and my childhood friend Keith. Sincerely, Makk

To the Hart & Shepard family,
I had the pleasure of meeting and knowing Sue this past year when we would have our Tuesday afternoon craft class at Eileen´s home. She truly had a warm heart and I could tell she loved her family dearly. I was overcome with sadness when I was informed of her passing. I will miss her presence. My thoughts and prayers go out to each and everyone of you.
