STILLWATER - Mary V. Minor LeClaire, 76, of Stillwater, passed away unexpectedly on April 19, 2025. Born in Troy, N.Y., Mary was the daughter of Eileen Viall and Severin Minor. She was one of eleven children and loved each of her siblings dearly, maintaining a close bond with family throughout her life. She is survived by Sue Ann Muller, Ronald Minor, Esther (John) Callahan, Ella (Judd) Morse, Thomas Minor, Terry (Sherri) Minor and Eric (Eileen) Minor. She was predeceased by three siblings, Debbie McLaughlin, Belinda Patenaude, and Edward Minor.
In 1966, she married the love of her life, George LeClaire. Together, they shared thirty-two wonderful years, building a life filled with love, laughter, and family until his untimely passing in 1998. They created a loving home where lasting memories were made and their family grew.
Mary was fortunate to find companionship and joy again with her dear partner, William "Bill" Johnson, after the passing of her husband. Together, they built a beautiful life, blending their families and creating many years of happiness, laughter, and mutual support.
Mary was known for her feisty spirit and quick wit-always ready with a sharp comeback and a smile. Her personality brought laughter to every room she entered. Mary devoted many years as a private duty homecare aide, a role she carried out with compassion, skill, and a heart full of kindness. She treated every person in her care like family, offering dignity, comfort, and genuine enduring love for every life she touched.
Mary also found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially camping with her family. For years, she cherished those getaways and created lasting memories. Being a mother was Mary's proudest and most cherished role. She adored her children, Mary Lee Dugan, Trish (Steve) LeClaire Benoit, Paula (Michael) Dunn, John (Laurie) LeClaire, Craig LeClaire, and her stepson George (Lisa) LeClaire, with unwavering love and devotion. She also warmly embraced Bill's children: Bill (Karen) Johnson, Mark (Cheryl) Johnson, and Scott (Tammy) Johnson as family.
Her love for her grandchildren, Lisa Zehender, Matthew LeClaire, Christopher Dugan, Brendan Dugan, Morgyn LeClaire, Kierra LeClaire, Emily Benoit, and Nathan LeClaire, was immeasurable. She celebrated each milestone and took pride in their every accomplishment. Mary was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren, Makayla Roberts, Isabella Zehender, Natalie Zehender, Audrianna LeClaire, Matthew LeClaire, Colton LeClaire, and Skylar LeClaire. Mary will be remembered for her strong heart, her humor, her deep love for her family, and the countless lives she touched through her care and kindness.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, April 23, from 4-7 p.m., at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 South Main Street, Mechanicville. A Funeral Home Service will take place on Thursday, at 11 a.m., followed by burial in Hudson View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a
