I sat with Mary in the dining room at the Home of the good shepherd so in that time I really got to know her. She made mealtime a pleasure. She was so proud of her children. I felt that I got to know them too and I send my condolences to Mary, Cherrie, and Jack.

I volunteered at the Home of the good Shepherd with my Therapy dog, Bella Mae. I got to know Mrs. Pitney. She would always tell to call her Mary. I enjoyed our weekly visits. She was easy to talk to. So much so that I would lose track of time. There have been a handful of people that have touched my heart during my years of volunteering, “Mary” was one of them. Louisa

I worked with Mary at the CETA office. Not only was she an absolute joy to work with, she was the most competent gatekeeper of the always rowdy waiting room. When she was on vacation chaos reigned. SHe truly had a magic touch with people in crisis.

To Jack and family: Your Mom was a wonderful lady; she even put up with her home being turned into a movie lot. I am that glad she had a long, happy life. God bless all of you, Fran

Mary and Pat, Cheryl and John, Jack and Lisa, Chris, Johnnie, Debbie, Joshua, and Hannah,
I’m so sorry for the loss of your Mom and Gree. She was a special woman, and the best Mother, Grandmother, Aunt and friend anyone could ask for. She was always there to champion and support and care for us all. She left us with lots of her love and great memories to sustain us.

I will miss her dearly and our long chats. I always left feeling better after visiting with Aunt Mary. I hope you all can find comfort and peace in knowing that she touched so many of our lives so deeply.

Take your long deserved rest Aunt Mary, I love you.
