Mary Ruberti Obituary

Ruberti, Mary C.
ESSEX JUNCTION, Vt. - Mary C. Ruberti, beloved mother to Gary D Ruberti II, of Milton, Vt., and wife to Gary D. Ruberti, was welcomed into the hands of God on September 16, 2024, with her family by her side. Mary was born in Albany, N.Y., in 1950, to parents William and Marcia C. growing up in New Salem, N.Y. During Mary's childhood years she was active in cheerleading and loved spending time with friends. She received her bachelor's in fine arts at The College of St. Rose with a minor in accounting. She had a lengthy career working for the State of New York in the Tax and Finance Department working her way to become a Director of Tax Auditing where she ended her career.
Mary spent her free time proudly raising her son Gary and being involved with politics. Mary was elected to be the first female Democratic Chairwoman for Guilderland, N.Y., where she was instrumental in expanding the democratic party for Guilderland and Albany County. Mary enjoyed volunteering for New York State Public Employees Federation (PEF), skiing at Willard Mountain and in Vermont, sewing, and vacationing in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina where she and her husband Gary would eventually retire.
Mary loved fashion; she would frequently be complimented on her glamorous style and clothing. Due to her devotion to fashion and the catholic church, she ran and organized fundraising fashion shows at her local churches in Hilton Head, S.C. and in Saratoga, N.Y. For fun Mary decided to be a Mary Kay representative becoming a top sales resource for her area. In her final years Mary and her husband moved closer to her family in Vermont where they built a house to spend time with their grandchildren and in-laws.
Mary was preceded in death by her mother and father; husband, Gary Ruberti; and is survived by her son, Gary (Samantha) Ruberti II; and two grandchildren of Milton, Vt., her sisters, Ellen (Patrick) Hunsinger of Albany, N.Y., Susan (Jim) Rider of Poestenkill, N.Y.; and her niece, Kristin Hunsinger of East Greenbush.
Relatives and friends are invited to call Friday, September 20, 2024, from 4 - 6 p.m. at the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Voorheesville. Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Route 85, New Salem.

Family and Friends of Mary Ruberti:

Fondly remember, in 1976 & 1978, when we were both S.E.F.A./United Way Loaned Executives for their annual Charitable Fundraising seasons. Mary was a fine and generous person.

My sincere condolences on your loss. May your period of bereavement and grief be, mercifully, short.

God bless you all.

I was a Timbercreek neighbor and haven´t seen Mary since she moved to VT. I will always remember her sense of fashion and design. She taught the neighborhood how to play mahjong and I will remember her every time I play. My sympathies to her family.
