MaryLou Frese Obituary
ALBANY - MaryLou Frese, 75, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at Shaker Place Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, in Albany. After a long, 15-month fight, she is now at peace. Born in Albany, MaryLou was the daughter of the late Nelson and Vera "Rita" Hotaling.
She was a lifelong area resident, employed and retired from the N.Y.S. Senate, where she spent many years with colleagues and friends. She was a communicant of the Church of St John's-St. Ann's.
Devoted wife of Eugene; loving mother of James Frese (Samantha) and Michael Frese (Georgina). Cherished "Mimi" (grandmother) of Noah, Jayden and Isabella Frese, who truly warmed her heart and loved very much. Great-grandmother of Tommy and Tony, both were the loves of her life, who she could not wait to spend time with to spoil them both with love, gifts and Italian treats; and brother to Danny Hotaling (Alicia).
MaryLou had the dearest amount of family and friends who she loved with too many to list. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the doctors and nurses, for all their support, and to Shaker Place, for their comfort and care during the past weeks.
Private funeral services are being conducted at the convenience of the family, per MaryLou's wishes.
