Loss is never easy and certainly not when it involves such a wonderful young man. He touched the lives of many and I am sure all of those he came in contact with, no matter how brief, will be thinking of him and his family. I am truly saddened by the news.(RATS)

My condolences and warmest thoughts go to Matt's family. He was a great doc, had a calming presence, and didn't hesitate to jog 2 miles to finish out the last leg with me on my hardest day. I can't even express how grateful I was to him for his kindness then and on the day following. Without a doubt, he will be missed.

This is an incomprehensible tragedy. It's so profound, that there are no words to describe it. My heart and deepest sympathy goes out to everyone who loves him. Him and I were just joking and laughing 2 weeks before this happened. And this is how I will always remember him - running around the ER in his scrubs helping people.. with that happy smile of his!

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

I love this poem and it brings me comfort when I think of loved ones who are no longer with us (physically).

A loving mother, who will never forget and who will always and forever keep your family in her prayers.
