Michael James Gorman

Gorman, Michael James ALBANY Michael James Gorman passed peacefully on January 9, 2022, with his loving parents, James and Mary, and his beloved partner Denise Jerome Finn by his side. Michael was a kind, generous and loyal person to his friends and family. He was always quick with a joke and provided laughter to all that knew him. His biggest joy was fishing. He loved spending time on his boat and "fighting the fish". He loved playing golf and spending time outdoors with friends. In his younger days he was an athlete, playing baseball, football, and golden gloves boxing. He graduated from Mohonasen High School and received an A.A. degree in Business from Russell Sage College/JCA of Albany. Michael was a business owner at the age of 18. He owned and operated KPM Floor Care Corporation, a commercial cleaning company, which he operated until he retired a few years ago. Mike was born in June of 1963 in Schenectady, to Jim E. and Mary L. Cooper Gorman. He is survived by his parents; his sister Colleen Hjeltnes (Knut); and several uncles, aunts, and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife, Anne Marie Gibney Gorman and mourned by her relatives. He will be missed by all who knew him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral, which will begin, Thursday, January 13, 2022, at 10 a.m. at the Gleason Funeral Home and at 11 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, Union St., Schenectady, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Wednesday, from 4 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
