Michael H. Ketz Jr.

Ketz, Michael H. Jr. CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. Michael H. Ketz Jr., 75, died April 1, 2007 peacefully at home after a long illness. Born in the town of Colonie on February 20, 1932, he was the son of the late Michael and Laura Moreau Ketz. He attended Cohoes High School and served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Navy on the USS Mt. Baker. He retired from the Watervliet Arsenal. In his early life, his interests included hunting, fishing, coin collecting and crossword puzzles. He was a former member of the American Legion. Survivors include his loving wife of over 50 years, Mary Pipino Ketz. His children, Sharon (William) Winchester of East Greenbush, Donna Ketz of Schaghticoke, Lori (Mike) Schettine of Duanesburg, Kevin Ketz of Cohoes, Tim Ketz and Heather (Dave) Spadafora, all of Rotterdam; brother of Robert Ketz of Cohoes. Also survived by seven grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 8:15 a.m. from the Marra Funeral Home, corner of Remsen and Columbia Streets, Cohoes and at 9 a.m. from St. Mary's Church, Crescent. Interment will be in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. Those who wish, may make donations in Mr. Ketz's memory to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
