Michael J. Sowalsky Sr.

Sowalsky, Michael J. Sr. WATERVLIET Michael J. Sowalsky, Sr. passed away peacefully on May 20, 2021 after a long illness. Born in Troy, he was the son of the latet William and Irma Sowalsky. Michael is survived by his sons, Michael (Patti) Sowalsky, Jr., Matthew (Tricia) Sowalsky and Mark (Emily) Sowalsky; his sister Shirley (Frank) Giuliano; 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Ann (John) Murphy, Mary (Charles) Carol and Sherman (Rose) Sowalsky. Michael worked at Hills Stationery in Troy, Bilinski Meats in Cohoes, Edwards in Latham, and was also a school bus driver for many years. He was a devoted lifetime member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and the G.W. Ford Fire Department. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 26, at 12 p.m. at Parker Bros. Memorial Funeral Home, Watervliet. A visitation will be held before the service, from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Waterford.
