Michael "Mike" Zeh

1955 - 2022

Zeh, Michael "Mike" EAST GREENBUSH Michael "Mike" Zeh, 66 of East Greenbush, passed away with the love of his life, Judy, and loving family members by his side on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Samaritan Hospital in Troy. Mike, the son of the late Clinton J. and Jane E. (McNay) Zeh, was born on August 22, 1955, in Albany. Mike graduated from the former Cardinal McCloskey Memorial High School in Albany in 1975. After graduating from high school, he worked for the Crisafulli Brothers before beginning his lifelong career as a steamfitter on April 28, 1978. Mike worked as a steamfitter for 37 years for UA Local 7 Plumbers and belonged to the Steam Fitters Union before he retired on December 1, 2015. An American original in every conceivable way, Mike was an accomplished guitarist and loved his boat. He was also an avid hunter, fisherman, and bowler. Mike was a man of few words, but was always willing and ready to help a friend in need. Judy, Mike's life partner for over 32 years, shared his amazing love of animals. Together, they rescued and raised a family of beloved cats over three decades. Each kitty had a unique name and persona which created a delightful family of four-legged friends that will most certainly enhance his legacy. Mike will be especially missed by his personal lap cat, "Calli." Mike was predeceased by his mother and father, Jane and Clinton Zeh; and brothers, William ""Billy"" Zeh and John Zeh. Mike is survived by his wife, Judith Ann Werking; siblings, Kenneth (Mary) Zeh, Diane (Mark) Donahue, and Deborah (Mike) Lee; brother-in-law, Dr. Raymond H. Werking Jr.; sister-in-law, Geraldine ""Gerri"" Werking; and brother-in-law, James ""Jim"" A. Werking. Surviving nieces and nephews include Cassandra Jane Werking, Raychelle Nancy Werking, Christopher Rickard, Carolyn (Brian) Mattiske, Eric Donahue, Clinton "C. J." (Andrea) Zeh, John Payette, Sonya (A. J.) Blizzard, Darcie (Chuckie) Jaskot, Megan Donahue (Kyle Merritt), Cynthia (Bobby) Goff, Deanna Lee, and Sara Donahue. Mike also enjoyed the love of numerous aunts and uncles along with 16 great-nieces and nephews. Friends and family are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, February 4, from 4 - 7 p.m. at the Wm. J. Rockefeller Funeral Home Inc., 165 Columbia Tpke., Rensselaer. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 5, in the Blessed Sacrament Church, 607 Central Ave., Albany. The New York State COVID-19 mask mandate will be strictly enforced. Burial will be this coming spring and the public will be invited. Flowers are welcomed. However, in lieu of flowers, donations in Mike's honor to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society in Menands, or an animal shelter of your choice, will also be greatly appreciated.
