Nancy Zeman Obituary

Zeman, Nancy J. (Radliff) BURNT HILLS Nancy J. Zeman (nee Radliff), 87, the beloved wife of the late Kenneth Zeman of Burnt Hills, died of lymphoma on August 3, 2022. Born on February 7, 1935, in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Sanford and Irene Radliff. Nancy attended Scotia High School, and then matriculated at Bryant College in Providence, R.I. After graduation, she joined the General Electric Research Laboratory, and worked for two Nobel Prize winners, Dr. Irving Langmier and Dr. Katherine Blodgett. Married in 1957 to Kenneth Zeman of Chicago, Ill., she is survived by her three children: Cynthia Zeman of Swampscott, Mass., married to David S. Weaver, Mark Zeman of Camillus, N.Y., and Gregg Zeman of Scotia, married to Patricia; and six grandchildren: Connor and Alyssa Zeman, Tiberius and Claire Weaver-Zeman, and Otto and Mary Zeman. Nancy was very active in her community and church, serving on Altar Guild and volunteering at the BH-BL Library for many years. She loved being a stay-at-home mom, always deep in a sewing project or busy attending softball games, and was a devoted wife to Ken. She acknowledged that she was not a great cook, but she did excel at Christmas cookies. She was especially enamored of her grandchildren, always up on what their interests were and curious about their lives. A funeral service will be held in the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 547 Saratoga Road, Glenville on Saturday, August 13, at 11 a.m., followed by a coffee hour in the Fellowship Hall. Burial will be in the Park Cemetery in Scotia. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Black and Blue Thumb Group at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 547 Saratoga Road, Glenville, NY, 12302. She was a beautiful woman (and the last remaining cousin on the maternal side of my family) and I always enjoyed our conversations and especially time when I would visit with her when I was back in our hometown. She is missed!

No words can lessen your sorrow, but please know that I am so very sorry for this Zeman family loss.
Nancy was a very special cousin to me. I truly enjoyed being able to spend quality time over these last several years with her (and Ken) on my trips up to the hometown area. She definitely was a "rare gem" in so many ways (all of which she shared with and upon others). Nancy was the last of my cousins on the Radliff side. I certainly will miss her !!!

Unfortunately, I am unable to make the services today so I wanted to send my condolences to the family. Although I was surprised at how quickly your mom passed after being hospitalized, I was glad she didn´t suffer for long. I know the last 6 months have been very difficult for her.Your mother was a pleasure to care for- everyone in the office felt the same.
Your mother was such a bright and kind person, she will be missed by all of us at Scotia Glenville Family Medicine.
Please don´t hesitate to call if you have any unanswered questions or concerns.

I´ll always remember her kindness to me throughout my life and honor her memory for her strength of character and commitment to her extended family. She was a faithful visitor to her brother (my father) through out his long illness, always cared about how everyone in the family was doing and made the effort to keep in touch. Rest In Peace Aunt Nancy and thanks for everything you did for us.
