Nelson Mattice Obituary

Mattice, Nelson E. CAIRO Nelson E. Mattice, age 62 years, of Main Street, Cairo, formerly of Coxsackie, died April 2, 2012 at Albany Medical Center. He was born in Catskill, on December 31, 1949, and is the son of Jean B. (Carrington) Mattice of Coxsackie, and the late LeRoy Mattice. Nelson was a lifetime resident of Greene County, he enjoyed motorcycling, guns, hunting and fishing. He served in The U.S. Navy in California. He recently retired in January 2012 from Gtech Company of Poughkeepsie. Besides his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Jamie Mattice of Catskill; a brother, Neal L. Mattice and wife Cathy of Freehold; two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Nancy) Crewell of Coxsackie, and Mrs. Matt (Norean) Frenza of Catskill; friend, Marie Amato of Cairo, also many cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides his father, he is predeceased by his sister, Nadine Mattice. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours at The W.C. Brady's Sons, Inc. Funeral Home, Coxsackie, on Thursday, April 5, 2012 from 4-7 p.m. Funeral services will take place on Friday, April 6, 2012, at 10 a.m. at The W.C. Brady's Sons, Inc. Funeral Home, 97 Mansion St., Coxsackie, with Rev. Robert Johnson, pastor of The First United Methodist Church of Coxsackie, officiating. Interment will follow with full military honors in the family plot of The Riverside Cemetery, Coxsackie. Contributions in his memory may be made to The First United Methodist Church, 103 Mansion St., Coxsackie, N.Y. Condolences may be made at www.wcbradyssonsinc.net.
