Norine Chader Obituary

Chader, Norine Elizabeth REXFORD Norine Elizabeth Chader went to be with our Lord on November 15, 2021, at 11:30 p.m. surrounded by loving family. Norine was 95 years old. She is survived by four of her five children, Stephen Chader of Mesa, Ariz., Deborah Coad of Tampa, Fla., Christine Chader of Schoharie, and Elizabeth Chader of Schenectady; in addition to 12 grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 59 years, Dr. Warren Chader; and her second child, Martin Donald Chader. Norine was a Schenectady native, born on July 31, 1926, to Kolin Donald Hager and Bernice Elizabeth Pease Hager. She was a graduate of Cornell University and served her community as a home-extension agent before engaging in the rewarding work of raising her five children. Norine devoted herself to her husband, children, and church and will be remembered as a dedicated, creative, and vivacious woman whose warmth and joy made everyone feel welcome. She was generous with her home, time, and talents as an excellent cook and homemaker. One of her greatest joys was to mentor women and teach the Bible. For a season, she was a featured speaker for Christian Woman's club in eastern New York. Her wisdom and love for God's word impacted many throughout her life. A celebration of Norine Chader's heavenly homecoming will be held in the Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church, 1230 Rugby Rd, Schenectady, NY, 12308 on Friday, November 19. Visitation will be held at 10:30 a.m. and a funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to the Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church. Arrangements entrusted to Griswold Funeral Home, Schenectady. To express condolences, visit: www.sbfuneralhome.com.

Dr. Chader was our family Dentist for our entire lifetime. Noreen moved to Coburg Village and my parents were friends with Noreen for their years together there. We lost my Mom and Dad in 2018. Each time we visited Coburg, Noreen always shared a smile, a greeting, and remembered us well. We shared stories of days of yore and hold fond memories of her friendship with my parents. It is a small world as one daughter lives in Tampa, FL, where we live too! Coburg was such a beautiful place to live among wonderful people! I had a dental emergency while in NY visiting my parents, and it was a unique experience to go back to "Dr. Chader's" office to see the new dentist there that had bought the practice and fit me in because my parents were clients. Ahhhh, the little sweet cute old house practice in Schenectady, was like a throw back to my childhood years with my favorite dentist, Dr. Chader. May Noreen rest in eternal peace in the arms of her Lord. The last time we saw her was in late 2017. Good memories. My condolences. I just stumbled on this obituary and glad I did. God Bless. Love, Starr Strever Stevens
