Norma Poland Obituary

Poland, Norma A. EAST GREENBUSH Norma A. Poland, age 86, has been reunited with her loving husband of 62 years, James F. Poland Jr. She passed away peacefully at Evergreen Commons in East Greenbush on October 23, 2017, after a brief illness. Norma was born in Saratoga and lived in Troy for most of her life before moving to East Greenbush, seven years ago. Norma was employed by Rensselaer County Social Services for 12 years. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Catone and Joanne (Kevin) Jensen; grandchildren, John Catone Jr., Arielle, Megan and Katelyn Ooms, and Joyce-Lynn and Mitchell Jensen; great-grandchildren, Johnny and Bailey Catone; her six siblings, Carol Alcombright, Cathy (Chuck) Miller, John (Carol) Eames, Elaine (Jack) Gardy, Steve (Marie) Eames and Dennis (Ellen) Eames; also survived by many nieces, nephews, and longtime friends. Daughter of the late Catherine (Murray) Eames and Norman Eames Sr. She was predeceased by her three siblings, Regina Rusch, Mary Ann Del Signore and Edward Eames. Calling hours will be held at the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Ave., Rensselaer, on Monday, October 30, from 4 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 31, at the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. Condolence page at www.wjlyonsfuneralhome.com.
