Odella Rogers Obituary
COLONIE - Odella "Dolly" Rogers, "Nana", of Colonie, died unexpectedly on June 27, 2023, at home with her husband Harold. She was 79 years old.
She was born in Albany on March 23, 1944. She attended Vincentian Institute and graduated in 1962. On November 11, 1978, she married Ernest Harold Rogers from Colonie, N.Y. Dolly and Harold had two children, Michele Rene and Jennfer Ellen.
Dolly enjoyed reading and genealogy. After retirement, Dolly got involved with the National Society Daughters of The American Revolution. She became Regent of the Peter Gansevoort Chapter.
Dolly was predeceased by her daughter, Michele R. Claffey; her parents, Joseph Edwards and Adele Villenevue; her brother, Robert Edwards (Dee); and her sisters, June (Jacob), Julie (Peter). She is survived by her husband, Ernest Harold; her sister, Susan Howe (Harold); daughter, Jennifer E. Foster (Jim); grandchildren, Shanell Claffey (Ammar), Tyler Claffey (Jocelyn), Elizabeth Foster (Ben), Sarah Foster; great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Maya, Eli, and Arianna.
Due to her wishes, there will not be a service at this time.
In lieu of flowers, she would like donations to be made to The Wounded Warriors Project https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/.

Dear Harold and family,
So saddened to hear of Dolly's sudden passing. I've known Dolly through the DAR. She became Regent soon after I joined the chapter and was always so welcoming and dedicated to our veterans. She will be truly missed.

To Dolly’s family. I am so sorry to hear this very sad news. I always enjoyed having a conversation with her, because she was so interesting and I loved hearing stories about her WWII hero father, who was part of the greatest generation. Dolly always treated my wife Donna and me with great respect. We loved being her friends.
