Patricia McKeon Obituary

McKeon, Patricia A. "Pat" TROY Patricia A. "Pat" McKeon of Deerfield Beach, Fla., passed away on February 23, 2022, after a brief illness, with her loving sister by her side. Born in Troy, on January 22, 1932, she was the daughter of Frederick B. and Lena Hoffman McKeon, and niece of her dear aunt Gertrude Hoffman. Pat received her elementary education at St. Joseph's School in South Troy, and was a graduate of Catholic Central High School, class of 1949. She was employed at NYNEX / AT&T her entire career, working as a supervisor for the White and Yellow Pages. Pat was a lifetime parishioner of St. Joseph's Church in South Troy, and was also a parishioner of St. Ambrose Church in Deerfield Beach. Pat enjoyed spending time with her family and friends; sharing waterfront dinners; getting together for large Florida birthday parties; hosting large Super Bowl parties over the years; and researching genealogy. Pat is survived by her sisters, Madeline McKeon McCune of Amsterdam and Mary B. McKeon of Troy; nephews, Jack McKeon, Dan McKeon, and Bob McCune; nieces, Mary Pat Devine (Dan), Maureen Mickel (Kevin) and Diane Mackey (Dave); cousins, David McKeon (Margie) and Hugh McKeon (Bernie), Sheila McKeon, and Shri Karve; many other grandnieces and nephews, great-grandnieces and nephews, cousins and close relatives around the country and in Ireland, and many close friends in Florida and North Carolina. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, George "Chops" McKeon and Fred McKeon; her brother-in-law, John R. McCune; uncles, Father George J. McKeon, Father Harold L. McKeon, Hugh McKeon (Helene), and Frank McKeon (Theodosia); aunts, Rose McKeon, Loretta McKeon and Gertrude Hoffman; nephew, Timothy McKeon; niece, Barbara McKeon Hoover; grandniece, Susan McKeon Karve; cousins, George McKeon Sr. and Helene McKeon Pelton; and many other dear relatives and friends. Calling hours are on Friday, March 4, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Wm. Leahy Funeral Home, 336 Third St., Troy. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 5, with a Mass of Christian Burial held at 9:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, 416 Third St., Troy. Services will be livestreamed on Facebook at facebook.com/StJosephTroy. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Mann Avenue, Troy. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Pat's name to St. Joseph's Church, 416 Third St., Troy, NY, 12180, Joseph House & Shelter, 74 Ferry St., Troy, NY, 12180 or The American Cancer Society Hope Club, 1 Penny Lane, Latham, NY, 12110.

Always saw the sisters at Saint Ambrose- it was always nice to see someone from Troy especially ones we have been connected with for so many years! My sister Shirley and Maddie were best friends forever. The Mckeons were the back bone of south Troy. My sympathy and prayers.
