Perian Jelstrom

Jelstrom, Perian LOUDONVILLE Perian Jelstrom, 47, lost her two year battle with breast cancer on Sunday, August 7, 2011. She was born October 3, 1963. She was the daughter of the late Audrey A. Jelstrom and G. Peter Jelstrom of Sunset Beach, N.C. During her battle, Perian was lovingly cared for by her brother, Scott, his wife, Liz, and their children, Audrey, Brennan, Tommy and Will in Loudonville, N.Y. A graduate of Pennsbury High School and Bucks County Community College in Pennsylvania, Perian worked for the State of New Jersey and Governor Christy Todd Whitman. After moving to N.Y., she became an active member of the Loudonville community, volunteering at West Albany Little League, St. Peter's Hospital and was an active member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. Perian is survived by her son, Derek Ignas, Lawrenceville, N.J.; her siblings, Peter Jelstrom, Sunset Beach, N.C., Tracey Schutz, Springfield, Mo., Greg Jelstrom, Morro Bay, Calif. and Scott Jelstrom, Loudonville, N.Y., 12 nieces and nephews and many friends. Friends and relatives are invited to a funeral Mass to be held at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Loudonville, N.Y., on Sunday, August 27, 2011 at 8:30 a.m. A private interment at St. Agnes Cemetery will follow Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations in Perian's memory can be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure or the American Cancer Society.
