Drysdale, Philip E. DUBLIN, Calif. Philip E. Drysdale, 62, died on Thursday, October 8, 2015, at home in Dublin, after a long illness. Born June 8, 1953, in Mount Vernon, N.Y., he was the eldest son of the late Emil and Joyce Drysdale. Philip attended Albany High School where he worked on the school newspaper, immersed himself in the debate and drama clubs and was president of his senior class. After graduating in 1971 he attended Harvard University where he studied history and literature with an eye towards a writing career. At Harvard he lived in Adams house and was a member of the Spee club. He graduated in 1975 and was hired, that summer, by "The New York Times", where he would eventually became the assistant editor of the Op-Ed page. He left the Times to work for ABC Night Line. In 1984 Philip left New York for New Orleans where he worked for the Associated Press. He entered Tulane Law School in 1987. While at Tulane he met his wife, Ann, a fellow law student, and they were married in 1993. Phil loved the bay area and upon graduation in 1990 was excited to accept a position at the law firm of Mendelson, Fastift, Tichy and Mathianson in their San Francisco offices. In 1996 he moved to the firm of Fitzgerald Abbott and Beardsley. Philip was a wonderful cook and his love of creating great food was a passion he shared with his wife Ann. Philip was predeceased by his parents, Emil and Joyce Drysdale and sister, Valerie Drysdale. He is survived by his wife, Ann Huntley; brother, Richard Drysdale (Saskia); sister, Paula Drysdale Frazell and nephew, Paul Frazell. A memorial service will be held Friday, October 16, at the Graham-Hitch Funeral Home, 4167 First St., Pleasanton, Calif.

Ann, I'm praying for you my SJA friend. Even though I wasn't a part of the life you had with Phil it sounds as if it were plentiful. I know that he was blessed to have had you by his side. Your memories should be rich! Terri (Falk) Vititoe

Dear Ann, I'm so sorry to hear of Phil's passing. I know you did everything you could to make him comfortable and he just couldn't fight anymore. He's no longer suffering and that's about the only thing that can ease the pain of losing him. I met him one time at Amanda's wedding and he was a really nice guy. My condolences go out to you.
