Ralph J. DeStefano

DeStefano, Ralph J. BARNEGAT, N.J. Ralph J. DeStefano, 77, of Barnegat, N.J. passed Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at Southern Ocean Medical Ctr. Born in Albany, N.Y. he graduated from CBA High School and received his bachelor's degree at Muhlenberg College. A veteran of the Army, he lived in Washington D.C. where he worked at the NIH and then graduated from Catholic University Law School. He and his wife moved to N.Y. where he spent 15 years in corporate life before opening his own law office in Montville, N.J. They relocated to Barnegat in 2000. He was very active in national politics, having worked in the campaigns of Theodore Sorenson and RFK's presidential campaign. Surviving are his beloved wife Joan (Hendricks); a daughter, Maribeth and husband Paul Mullen; a son, John; two grandchildren, Dalton and Rylan from N.J.; a sister, Barbara and husband James Conlon; a brother, Paul and wife Joanne both from Albany, N.Y. Viewing private. Mass of Christian Burial offered 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 7 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 4700 Long Beach Blvd., Brant Beach, N.J. Interment Bg. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Vet. Mem. Cemetery, Arneytown at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the local Cancer Society appreciated. Barnegat Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
