Richard Ashcraft Obituary

Ashcraft, Richard J. CORNWALLVILLE Richard James Ashcraft, of Cornwallville, formally a resident of Maryland, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2011 with his family at his side. Richard was born in the District of Columbia in 1935. He married his late wife Lillian Bernhardt Ashcraft in 1962 in Maryland. Richard was a lifelong member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local 132. He is survived by his daughters, Theresa (Donald) Heigel of Galway, Kimberly (Joanne) Ashcraft of Wappingers Falls, Debra (Leif) Spencer of Wallkill, and Alana (Tom) Buscher of Greenville. Richard leaves behind his loved grandchildren, Michael and Richard Mahar, Jacqueline and Christopher Heigel, Morgan, Rebecca and Nathan Spencer, Brenna and Malaina Buscher; and seven great-grandchildren, Kellee, Darren, Michael, Kyle, Emma, Hailey, Isabella. Church services will be held at The United Methodist Church of Greenville and Norton Hill on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 11 a.m. Burial of ashes will follow at Winston Cemetery in East Durham, N.Y. Richard lived the past several years of his life at Albany County Nursing Home. Memorial Donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
