Thanks to all of you who signed the Times Union guest book in memory of my dad, Richard Berkson. It's been very comforting and heart-warming to hear from each of you. Dick would have been really touched to read such kind words. On behalf of our entire family, we are very grateful. Best, Amy Berkson-Martin

I am so very sorry to learn of Dick's passing. He was part of our writing group, and we were all very close. His writing was outstanding. I'm happy that you have his beautiful memoir, "We Almost Lost Davey." Both Dick and Davey will be fondly remembered.

We were sad to hear of your loss. We've been living in Pittsburgh for two years. Jonathan, his wife and two sons are here and so we just heard. We hadn't even known Dick had been ill.
I believe the last time we saw both Dick and Gretta we were all in Williamstown, good memories. Our condolences to all the family.

My friendship with Dick began when we both worked for WKBW in the 1960's. When Dick moved to the Albany area, we would meet occasionally at events sponsored by Capital Cities Communications, our mutual employer. Those meetings were marked by warm feelings and raucous laughter. Our friendship bridged time and geography. I extend my deepest sympathy to the Berkson family.

Amy- I just saw your father's obituary notice and wanted to send this note of condolence. I am very sorry for your loss. My father died this year as well - their generation was so special. The write up for your dad was very nice - what a great tribute. Thoughts and prayers going out for you.

Amy,
I was sorry to see your dad's obit in the paper, although I know you had said he had been faltering in his health recently. These events are always difficult, and my thoughts are with you and your family. I mentioned the obit to Steven Roberts and he too extends his condolences. He remembers you from his childhood with Billy Hoffman, who out of the blue contacted him recently! In any event, warmest and healing wishes to you and your family at this difficult time.

Dick was a man of integrity, a great sales manager for Capital Cities Broadcasting at WROW-AM/FM, Albany and
a truly respected broadcaster. At a
Capital Cities Broadcasting dinner, in
New York City about 2 weeks ago, Dick's
friends were looking for him. That is
when many learned he was not feeling well. Dick wish you were there to hear the
nice things said about you. Am sure
God has those remarks on tape and will
play them back for you in heaven.
It was truly an honor to work with Dick
Berkson.
Condolences to Gretta and Dick's family
and many friends.
