Richard Breault Obituary

Breault, Richard F. WATERFORD Richard Francis "Dick" Breault, 64, of Middletown Road, died suddenly on Friday, April 24, 2009 in his home. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and proud veteran of his country, Mr. Breault will be missed by his loving family. Mr. Breault was born on February 4, 1945 at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy to Frank and Mary Breault. He was a 1963 graduate of Troy High School before proudly serving his country in Vietnam from 1964-1968. As a member of the U.S. Navy Seabees (both active and in the reserves), he served as a builder in the Mobil Construction Battalion 8, earning several decorations, including the Medal For Merit (New York State), Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device, Fleet Marine Combat Insignia, National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal. Mr. Breault was very proud of his service to his country, living the Seabees motto of "We Build, We Fight, Can Do." After returning from Vietnam upon his honorable discharge, Mr. Breault served as a constable for the Waterford Police Department. He also began his 34-year-long career with New York Telephone, later known as Verizon, working as a switching equipment technician before retiring in 2001. It was there he met his loving wife, the former Maureen Osgood, whom he married on September 12, 1986. The couple spent a total of 32 years together. Mr. Breault also served as a volunteer with the Waterford EMT. After retirement, he received his associate's degree in culinary arts from Schenectady County Community College, helping him further explore his love of cooking. He was a member of the American Legion in Clifton Park, the Disabled American Veterans, and Navy Seabee Veterans of America. Mr. Breault is survived by his mother, Mary Breault; loving wife, Maureen; and daughters, Lisa Stover (Thomas) of Wilton, Michele Quinn (Thomas) of Poestenkill, Meredith Rivet (Jeffrey) of Waterford, Heather Osgood (and fiance Nicholas Johansen) of Waterford and Melissa Breault of Waterford; sister, Kimberly Guyer (Martin); brother, Marc Breault; and sister-in-law Lynda Breault. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, and two grandsons, Kolyn and Donovan. Mr. Breault will always be remembered for his love for his grandchildren, and as a great husband, great father and great man. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte. 32), Waterford. Interment with military honors will be in the St. Joseph's Cemetery in Waterford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 4-8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or American Lung Association in care of the funeral home office.

Grandpa,

This is our favorite song you sang to us! We love and miss you!

Three Little Fishes

Down in the meadow in a little bitty pool
Were three little fishes and their mommy fishy too
Swim! said the mommy fishy, Swim if you can!
And they swam and they swam right over the dam

cho: Boop boop dittum dattum wattum, choo
And they swam and they swam all over the dam

Stop! said the mommy fishy, You'll get lost!
But the three little fishes didn't want to be bossed
So the three little fishes set off on a spree
And they swam and they swam right out to the sea

Whee yelled the fishes, oh here's a lot of fun.
Swim in the sea 'til the day is done
So they swam and they swam, it was all, a lark.
'Til all of a sudden they saw a shark.

Whoa cried the fishes, oh look at the whales
Quick as they could they turned on their tails
Back to the pool in the meadow they swam
And swam and swam back over the dam.

We love you Grandpa

God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,

The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle's flight,

The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,

Then God combined these qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so, He called it ... Dad

I love you- Mere
