Richard Matthew Keane

p PITTSFIELD, Mass. Mr. Richard Matthew Keane, 84, of East Street, Providence Court Apartments, Pittsfield, died Friday morning, August 11, 2006 at the home of his daughter, Theresa I. Wilson of McKinley Drive, Delmar, N.Y. where he had been visiting. He had resided in Pittsfield since the late 1970s. Prior to moving to Pittsfield, he was a resident of Dalton, Mass. since 1960, coming from the Boston, Mass. area. Born on November 2, 1921 in Roxbury, Mass., a son of the late Richard and Annie Carroll Keane. He attended Boston, Mass. schools and was a 1957 graduate of Bentley College from the CPA program. He was a World War II United States Army veteran. Mr. Keane was a certified public accountant for Kimberly Clarke in Lee, Mass. from 1965 until his retirement in 1977. While in the Boston area, he was a bus driver for the Mass. Transit Authority for several years. He was a member of the Wahconah Country Club of Dalton and a member of the Dalton American Legion where he enjoyed bowling. He also enjoyed playing golf. His former wife the former Charlotte F. Garrett Keane, predeceased him. Also predeceased by a brother and four sisters. He is survived by three sons, Robert F. Keane of Collegeville, Pa., Garrett P. Keane of Amherst, N.H. and Paul A. Keane of Pittsfield; four daughters, Mary Denise Lum of Eagle River, Alaska, Constance A. Feola, Charlotte F. Keane and Theresa I. Wilson, all of Delmar; four daughters-in-law, Judith, Marilee, Marcia and Sharon Keane; three sons-in-law, Richard Lum, Mark Feola and Tony Wilson; 18 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Richard M. Keane, who died in the North Tower of the World Trave Center, New York City on September 11, 2001. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at the Dery-Foley Funeral Home, 890 East Main Street, Dalton, Mass. from 5 to 8 p.m. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at Saint Catherine of Siena Church, Albany, N.Y.
