CLIFTON PARK - Dr. Richard Paul White, 76, of Clifton Park, N.Y., died at Albany Medical Center, following a prolonged battle with cancer on Monday, November 10, 2025.
Richard was born in Takoma Park, Md., in 1949, to Drs. Julius and Florence (Roy) White. He attended Michigan State University for his undergraduate studies, the University of Rochester for Medical School, and completed his Ophthalmology residency at the University of Iowa. He concluded his career as a partner at Albany Eye Associates, retiring in 2019.
He married his wife, Christine (Bogdanowicz) in 1976. They have two children, a son Eric, and a daughter Katherine. He is also survived by daughter-in-law, Meagan Lasky; son-in-law, Joseph Rettberg; granddaughter, Phoebe Rettberg; sister, Elizbeth White, of Ill.; and brother, Dr. William White, of Ga. He was predeceased by his parents; and his sister, Margaret White.
Richard was a lifelong musician with a deep appreciation for all types of music. He was a trumpet player in numerous local groups, including the Shenendehowa Swing Band, Swing Docs Jazz Group, Memorial Band of Colonie, Music Company Orchestra, and Backyard Brass. Richard was passionate about travel and made several U.S. road trips with his wife over the course of their marriage as well as a few international trips. He was also an enthusiast of Saab automobiles and enjoyed swimming and golfing.
His family wishes to extend their appreciation to the Ballston Lake EMS and the Albany Medical Center Critical Care Unit.
A private ceremony will be held for his immediate family.
