Robert Brinkman Obituary

Brinkman, Robert R. Sr. EAST POESTENKILL Robert R. Brinkman Sr., 'The Bullet', 66, of 56 Road, died Friday, March 28, 2008, at Albany Medical Center Hospital. Born in Reading, Conn., he was the son of the late Erick Brinkman and Clara Mockett Brinkman and beloved companion for 15 years of Nancy Gertzberg. He resided in East Poestenkill most of his life and attended the one room schoolhouse in Poestenkill and Berlin High School. Bob owned and operated Brinkman Trucking in East Poestenkill for the past 30 years. He was a member of the Freehold Aviation Association, Vagabonds II Bowling League at Spare Time in East Greenbush, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, and Experimental Aircraft Association. Bob loved flying, snow-mobiling, logging and anything that brought him into the woods. He was an avid outdoorsman. Survivors in addition to his companion include his children, Robert (Julie) Brinkman Jr. of Berne, Debra (David) Ryan of East Poestenkill and Eric S. Brinkman of East Poestenkill; three sisters, Ilse Harris of East Poestenkill, Beatrice (Leo) Meichtry of Wynantskill and Lillian (Leonard) Kacznski of Titusville, Fla.; his grandchildren, Adam Brinkman and Justin Ryan and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Pratt. Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue, Troy with Pastor Jay Bucci of First Baptist Church of East Poestenkill, officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Interment will be at Old 56 Cemetery, East Poestenkill.
