Robert William "Bob" Meeson Jr.
Meeson, Robert "Bob" William Jr. TROY Robert "Bob" William Meeson Jr., age 70, of Watervliet and Troy, passed away from COVID-19 on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at 5:15 p.m. at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. Born on June 22, 1950, to Robert W. Meeson and Eleanor M. (Michoian), Bob led a life driven by kindness and generosity that touched many people in the Capital Region and beyond. With experience serving in the U.S. Coast Guard, the U.S. Postal Service, running his own home inspection business, and upbringing in St. Peter's Armenian Church, Bob was always able to connect with people of all walks of life. He could be found making friends anywhere he went - live music events, state parks, casinos, beaches, grocery stores. His curious and gentle nature always got people to talk and smile, solidifying his role as the life of every party. Bob especially enjoyed watching his favorite band Blue Hand Luke, the N.Y. Giants, and listening to the sounds of the all-time great artists such as James Brown, Marvin Gaye, and Aretha Franklin. One of his many hobbies included extensive research into his family tree with roots dating back to the lower Hudson Valley into the 1800s. Bob leaves behind a legacy of love, and is survived by his four children: son, Lance Meeson of Ballston Lake and his son Lance Myles Meeson; daughter, Melanie Meeson (Scott Peconie) of Amsterdam, and her daughter Alex Rinehimer; son, Bobby Meeson of Reston, Va.; and daughter, Blair Meeson of Troy; his wife Sheila Meeson of Troy; as well as his sister Sharon Pauley of Watervliet; and mother Eleanor (Michoian) Meeson of Watervliet. He was proceeded in death by his father, Robert Meeson Sr.; and by his beloved grandson Garrett Meeson. Deepest condolences on your loss. I first met Bob at a Diocesan Assembly. He was warm, caring, friendly and funny. It was the highlight of my time at the assemblies to run into him and share "war" stories about church and life in general. We have all lost a truly wonderful man.

Our Hearts go out to the entire Meeson family. We have beautiful memories together at St. Peter's Armenian Church. Our children went to Sunday School together. We enjoyed the Church Events: Armenian Festival in the Summer and Holiday Bazaar in Winter. Bob is so memorable for his loving commitment to family and friends. We were so sorry to read about Bobby. Like us, he was a part of the teenage crowd that hung out during the 60s in the Port Schuyler section of Watervliet. We remember his smile, his cheerfulness and his friendship. He was a great guy. May God give all the members of the Meeson family comfort, peace, strength, encouragement and hearts full of warm memories of Bobby. God bless you.

Melanie & Family. I am so heartbroken to hear of Bob's passing. He was such a special guy & I have some great memories of him from high school and after graduation. He had the biggest heart and always had a smile on his face. He had such a great outlook on life and was certainly taken too soon. I hope he is at peace now & just know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers during this time. My sincere condolences.
