Robert Meyer Obituary
MECHANICVILLE - Robert V. Meyer, 95, of S. Second Ave., died peacefully at Saratoga Hospital on November 18, 2023, after a brief illness. Born in Watervliet on February 14, 1928, son of the late Edward and Elizabeth Schultz Meyer, Bob graduated from Watervliet High School in 1946. He joined the US Navy and served from 1950-1954 during the Korean War, aboard the heavy cruiser, USS Salem (CA-139).
Bob was a mechanical designer and production manager over a 45-year career, working for Teledyne Gurley, Troy.
Bob was predeceased by his wife, Cecilia Petronis Meyer; and siblings, David Meyer, Jean Nolan, and Edward "Sonny" Meyer.
He is survived by his sister, Elsie Coon, of Oregon; and several loving nieces, nephews, and friends. Bob was a happy, friendly guy who will be missed by many.
According to Bob's wishes, there will be no services. He will be interred with Cecilia at St. Paul's Cemetery. Please visit www.devito-salvadorefh.com to leave condolences, and share memories and photos you may have of Bob.
