Robert G. Sharpe

Sharpe, Robert G. SCHENECTADY Robert G. Sharpe, age 83, of Schenectady, passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Ellis Hospital. Born on January 23, 1927 in Whitehall, N.Y., he was the son of the late Reverend Harold and Jeanette Sharpe. He was predeceas-ed by his beloved wife, Barbara (Barnes) Sharpe. Mr. Sharpe was a graduate of Dalton High School (Mass), class of 1944. After serving in the United States Navy, he worked for Ballston Spa Knitting Company as a sales manager. His retirement years were spent between Bradenton, Fla. and the Great Sacandaga Lake, N.Y. Throughout his life, Mr. Sharpe was an avid golfer having been a member of the Ballston Spa Country Club for over 50 years. He was a lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Boston Red Sox and in his free time enjoyed playing bridge, cribbage, watching sporting events, and listening to jazz. He is survived by his daughters, Wendy (Edward) Butz and Robbin (William) Suess; grand-daughters, Kelsey, Laura and Kathryn; and grandson, Geoffrey. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 on Sunday, January 16 at Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan Street, Schenectady, N.Y. A private memorial service will follow.
