Ronald R. Brand

Brand, Ronald R. LATHAM Ronald R. Brand, 74, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 10, 2021, at Albany Medical Center. Born in Rochester, he is the son of the late Royal and Mary (Gilbert) Brand. Ron was drafted into the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and honorably served our country, which was something he carried with great pride the remainder of his life. He was a member of the Albany VFW, Wynantskill American Legion, Tri-County Vietnam Era Veterans, Latham K of C and the Emerald Club. Ronald also volunteered his time as a Veteran Ambassador at The Albany Airport, played Santa Claus at the Latham Circle Mall and served as dock master at the Waterford Visitors Center. In his free time Ron loved fishing, boating, camping and building birdhouses. Ron is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Rose (Olsey) Brand; his children, Ronald (Tracy) Brand, Jeffrey Brand, Rose (Tom) Mero, Kenneth Brand and Amy (Brian) Klemme; his grandchildren, Austin, Jacob, Anakin, Sydney, Sally, Charlotte and Amelia. In addition to his parents, Ron was predeceased by his brother, John "Jack" Brand. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Ron on Wednesday, December 15 at 10 a.m. at St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Rd., Latham. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Colonie. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 14, from 4 - 7 p.m. at The Bowen & Parker Bros. Funeral Home, 97 Old Loudon Rd., Latham.
