Ronald Cootware Obituary

Cootware, Ronald
SAND LAKE - With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ronald Ray Cootware, a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Born on February 1, 1946, he lived life by honoring love, laughter, family and friendships. Unfortunately, Ron left us on January 21, 2025, leaving an empty space in our lives that can never be filled.
Ron was born in Albany, N.Y., to Edith Furman Cootware and Ezra Cootware; and attended Voorheesville High School. He later pursued his passion for mechanics, owning his own business before transitioning into a successful career as an insurance adjuster for Traveler's Insurance. You may have known him as Ron, Ronnie, Coot, Cooter, and Dink.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Crystal Cootware Hoffman, Shannon Mieczkowski Seneta (John) and Theresa Mieczkowski Snapp; and his son, Steven Mieczkowski. He also leaves behind his dear brother, Donald Cootware. He was a proud grandfather to Stephanie, Brianna, Jayci, Cassidy, Jordan, Abigail, Chace, Hunter and Corbin; and great-grandfather to five great-grandchildren, all of whom filled his heart with love and happiness.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Voorheesville, followed by burial at Graceland Cemetery in Albany. Calling hours will be Monday, from 4 - 7 p.m., at the funeral home. For more information or to leave condolences, please visit the funeral home website.

Cooter, I am so glad that we had the opportunity to get back in touch after the passing of many years. I will always remember, though, the days you and the gang hanging out at the Artistic Lounge, jumping through windows, and of course the weekend we all went to the Moose River waterfalls! Rest in Peace, Coot! I will definitely miss you!
