Roy Swann Obituary

Swann, Roy E. ALBAY Roy E. Swann, 79, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 30, 2011, surrounded by his loving family. Roy was born in Albany, and retired from Red Star Express, Glenmont in 1992. Roy enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Roy will be greatly remembe red for all of the stories he told. In addition to his parents, Roy was predeceased by three brothers, William, Kenneth, Milton; and his son-in-law, Tracey Elliott Sr. Roy is survived by his loving wife of over 58 years, Ida Swann; his daughter, Sharon Swann-Elliott; his son, Roy Sr., his daughter-in-law Suni Swann; he is the cherished grandfather of, Thomas, Tracey Jr., Roy Jr., Justin and Seth; and his great-grandchildren, Kylee and one on the way; who all affectionately called him "Pop-Pop". He is also survived by three sisters, Harriett, Iola and Gracie and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral services will be Friday at 12 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Church, 52 Alexander Street, Albany. Calling hours will precede the service from 10 to 12 at the Church. Interment will follow the service in Memory Gardens Colonie.
